This here is an original 1960s Carimate chair by Cassina in its very cool original vintage frame and make in the oh so gorgeous stained RED wooden frame. In very good vintage condition throughout. Extremely sturdy. The wood is gorgeously sculpted. This is a Collector's piece, and a great spice or pop to any space.

Without doubt Magistretti’s most famous chairs, the "Carimate" chair was created for the Club House of the fameous “Carimate's Golf Club” restaurant. The chairs were produced by four different makers by the time the designer patented the construction in 1963. The "Carimate" takes its inspiration from furniture typical in rural areas and the use of simple materials such as straw and wood. The chair has an architectural, open frame, that gives it its characteristic appearance. The unique collaboration of traditional Italian craftsmanship and modernist design makes for a truly timeless chair.

Magistretti (1920-2006) started designing for Cassina in 1960. Today his designs can be found all over the world. Magistretti's approach and his innovative experimentation with materials and use of space, his bold advances in the use of shape and function have passed the test of times.
