French Painted and Parcel Gilt Console with Carrara Marble Top
A striking French console table, masterfully carved in the Rococo taste and retaining its original painted and parcel gilt finish. The shaped apron features lavish foliate scrollwork and a bold central mascaron depicting a classical male figure, richly gilded and deeply sculpted in high relief. Elegant cabriole legs with acanthus carvings terminate in scroll feet, all finished in a muted celadon blue with delicate gilded detailing and natural wear that enhances its antique charm. The console is crowned with a shaped Carrara marble top, subtly veined and polished to a soft sheen.
A statement piece ideal for an entryway, hallway, or under a grand mirror, this console reflects the opulence and refinement of 18th century French design.
