This vintage Turkish Kilim, measuring 3'4" x 4', is handwoven with wool on a wool foundation in Turkey's Oushak region. Kilims are flatweave rugs created by tightly interlacing warp and weft threads, resulting in a smooth, pile-free surface. Typically crafted on horizontal looms, this technique yields sharp geometric patterns. Lighter and softer than traditional pile rugs, kilims have versatile uses including sofa covers, drapes, pillows, tablecloths, wall hangings, and insulation against cold temperatures.
