A striking and authentic mid-century modern Krenit bowl, designed by Danish materials scientist Herbert Krenchel and produced by Torben Ørskov & Co. in Denmark during the 1950s–early 1960s.

This iconic bowl features Krenchel’s signature combination of a sleek black matte exterior and vibrant orange-red enamel interior, a hallmark of the Krenit series. Made of pressed steel with acid-resistant enamel on the interior and matte sandblasted fiber cement (asbestos-free Eternit) on the exterior, these bowls exemplify the seamless marriage of form and function that defines Scandinavian design.

This 9.75” example is especially desirable, as it is marked on the bottom—a detail not commonly found on earlier production pieces.

Condition:
In excellent vintage condition with only minimal wear consistent with age and use. The interior enamel is bright, glossy, and free of chips or cracks. The matte black exterior shows light wear (as pictured), typical for these bowls, and adds to its authentic vintage character. No chips, nicks, cracks, or repairs.
