In this body of work, Bruce .explored the theory of there being no moon and his representation of that through his conceptual characterizations. Growing up in the 1960s, Bruce observed major historical events: JFK's assassination, arrival of the Beatles, and MLK's “I Have a Dream” speech. Because of these historical occurrence, Bruce believed he “caught the resurgence of that time and people fighting for civil rights,” along with growing up in Missouri and seeing the visual elements that the Midwest has to offer. History has been a continual element in his life and tradition is an important constituent in his research and art. His interests involve culture, sacrifice, ceremony, and how all of those have affected and driven artists and cultures. Bruce has had works selected by the Nierman Contemporary Museum and has shown throughout galleries in the mid-west.B See less
