Each chest has a beautiful, well layered crown molding to the top. The upper half of each chest has 2 small drawers over 3 long drawers that are graduated in size. Each chest has a Dressing Slide / Brushing Slide above the top drawer of the lower half. The lower half of each chest has 3 long drawers that are graduated in size. The fronts of all the drawers and the front of the face and both sides of the crown are Banded in Walnut with a String Inlay of Satinwood and Kashmir Walnut ( Kashmir Walnut is the finest cut of Burr Walnut ) to the center of each inlay. There are vertical inlays of Satinwood on the left and right sides of each drawer and down the center of each drawer and the center of the face on the crown. Both of the right and left sides of each chest are Banded in Walnut with a herringbone Walnut Inlay and a Satinwood banding followed by a String Inlay of Ebony and a highly figured beautiful cut of Walnut to the middle. Each chest sits on a well shaped set of Splayed Bracket Feet. The brass handles are of the finest quality. This pair of chests were bought directly out of a home near Leeds England. At some point in their lives they have been restored and finished and are in spectacular physical condition and finish. Chests of this age, quality and combination of woods are very difficult to find and as a pair are almost impossible to find. These are AS GOOD AS IT GETS and are THE BEST OF THE BEST. Each chest measures 46 in. wide ( at the crown molding ) x 24 1/2 in. deep ( at the crown molding ) x 73 1/4 in. tall. less
