This amazing box was designed by Romano Bianchi … Read more Offering a vintage Italian Alabaster marble jewelry or keepsake box, circa 1950s. This amazing box was designed by Romano Bianchi and is made out of one solid piece of alabaster marble. The hinge and trim are gold plated. The top and bottom surfaces of the box have a high polished finish, while the entire circumference of the side of the box has a carved rough vertically grooved texture appearing to be like tree bark or faux bois. This box is guaranteed to be authentic hand-carved Italian Alabaster from the period. Original label on bottom.

VERY GOOD CONDITION. Some minor gold plate loss to the rims. The top surface appears to have a lighter colored ring, but in actuality it is below the surface of the lacquer and occurred during manufacturing. Also, on the bottom surface there appears to be a restored chip, but again, it is below the surface of the lacquer and occurred during manufacturing and it is most likely the natural veining of the stone. The top and bottom surface are smooth and shiny.

An elegant vintage jewelry box for that special collector. Can be used as an accessory item for a coffee table, nightstand or side table. Perfect for a Palm Beach style or Coastal home.
