The handpainted majolica pottery features roosters, birds and florals in blue, light brown and green. Each piece is lined in cobalt blue. The lid has a Trompe L’oeil pear and leaves which serve as a knob. The bowl has blue and white handles. One side depicts a rooster and the other side a hen. The bottom of the bowl is a pedestal and sits on a 17” Underplate which repeats all of the designs.
This beautiful piece is marked on the bottom and will serve as a centerpiece or to take command of a buffet.
There is no ladle as this tureen is not intended to have one.
