Victor Moscoso “Sphinx Dance” Psychedelic Rock Poster, 1967
Iconic 1967 psychedelic rock poster titled “Sphinx Dance”, designed by legendary artist Victor Moscoso for a concert at San Francisco’s Avalon Ballroom, featuring the Steve Miller Blues Band, The Peanut Butter Conspiracy, and Lee Michaels. Known for his pioneering work in 1960s counterculture poster design, Moscoso’s vibrant use of optical color vibrations is instantly recognizable.
This work is part of several museum collections, including the Denver Art Museum and was featured in exhibitions at both the DAM and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
