The surface made entirely of … Read more Antique Louis XIV Neapolitan chest of drawers in walnut burl with bois de rose reserves. The surface made entirely of walnut burl plays on the arrangement of the grain and the contrasting chiaroscuro of the different inlays. The decoration is typical of 18th-century Neapolitan with the classic contrasting reserve and shield on the lock. The two cantons and the top are emphasized by elegant wooden borders arranged 'in the head'. The three-drawer front is accentuated by a beautiful movement that is repeated on the sides as well, with wedge-shaped epaulets typical of Neapolitan cabinetmakers of the period. The two cabriolet feet are covered with bronze socks and are connected by a mixtilinear apron. General Condition: Restored by our master craftsmen with traditional handmade shellac and alcohol method. Provenance: Naples 18th century. Measurements: 130x60 H95cm.
