Pair of 1960s Belgian Brutalist Armchairs
A pair of substantial 1960s Belgian armchairs, crafted in solid stained oak with a strong, architectural silhouette. The square frames are robust and generously scaled, with broad flat arms and exposed joinery that underscore their structural integrity. The original floral upholstery is recommended to be changed but gives an indication of how a patterned velvet in warm, earthy tones can soften the profile of the armchairs. The cushions are set deep within the frame for a relaxed, grounded seat.
A striking example of mid-century Belgian design, these chairs have a rugged honesty and sculptural presence, suited to interiors that favour bold materials and tactile contrasts.
