Influenced by the earlier Circle of California Impressionists Edgar Payne, Granville Redmond, Julian Rix to name just a few and most of whom traveled to Europe. Joseph Frey is one of the only California Plein Air artists I know and these listings are the only painting by the artist of Kauai, Hawaii. I had them authenticated and appraised back in 2005. The two Frey paintings considered the best examples of his work. See less
