Romantic and a bit shappy chic!

This rare and elegant Victorian washstand is full of charm and character. Crafted from pine and painted in a soft, timeworn ivory/yellow tone, it features decorative fluted legs and beautifully detailed front panels. What truly sets this piece apart are the two sculpted ram’s heads on the central panel—likely made from plaster or gesso—adding a classical, almost mythical feel to the design.

The original top is missing, but I’m including the board I’ve used, which is covered in gingham wallpaper with a satin ribbon trim, (which is worn and torn) along with a glass piece that rests on top. The glass does not fit perfectly, but it’s worked beautifully for decorative and functional use.

This washstand served as a changing table in my daughter’s nursery, then later as storage for her books and toys. It would also make a lovely vanity base in a bathroom, an accent piece in a bedroom, or a statement cabinet in a hallway or entry.
