Ferdinand Elchinger, son of the Elchinger Céramistes dynasty, which had been producing ceramics in Souffleheim, Alsace, since 1834. Inspired by Art Deco and Bauhaus, Fernand Elchinger developed the modern and abstract forms of his ceramic vessels over the years, transforming them from the Elchinger Céramistes' original purely functional objects into works of art in tune with his time.

The signature "Elchinger France" is on the bottom of each vase base (see images). The red vase also bears a partially preserved original sticker with the Elchinger Céramistes logo (see images).

Dimensions of the vases: Left vase: height 14.5 cm, diameter 20 cm; right vase: height 15 cm, diameter 21 cm. This piece has an attribution mark,
