Elegant and unique white majolica soup tureen with polychrome duck design, produced between 1740 and 1770 by the ancient Pasquale … Read more Elegant and unique white majolica soup tureen with polychrome duck design, produced between 1740 and 1770 by the ancient Pasquale Antonibon Manufactory based in Nove di Bassano, in the Veneto region of Italy. It is very rare to find a piece like this in perfect condition, and this one is. In 1752, Pasquale Antonibon, a descendant of a family of majolica producers, began experimenting with porcelain production. In 1762, his efforts were crowned with success, and the Antonibon factory obtained a privilege from the Republic of Venice for the porcelain factory in Nove di Bassano. Around 1770, management passed into the hands of Pasquale's son, Gian Battista Antonibon, who lost ownership in 1794. The piece is in excellent condition.
