Elegant louis xvi dressing table in rosewood and various woods
this refined dressing table, typical of the louis xvi era (late 18th century), embodies the elegance and functionality characteristic of the period. Made of fine rosewood and walnut, it features exceptional workmanship and rich inlay decoration.
features:
opening top: the top of the cabinet is composed of three inlaid panels. The two side panels open like hinges, revealing storage compartments ideal for cosmetics and accessories.
the central panel is also openable.
the surface of the top is embellished with a herringbone or "diamond" pattern obtained through the orientation of the wood grain, framed by geometric fillets. Elaborate inlays: the entire surface of the cabinet, including the sides, front and back is decorated with rosewood fillets. Notched front with drawers: the front of the cabinet has an elegant shape with lateral notches, which curve inwards creating a central opening typical of dressing tables to allow the chair to be brought closer.
three drawers, also inlaid with the same herringbone pattern and fillets, are expertly integrated into the structure: a central one, larger, and two lateral ones of smaller dimensions.
the drawers are equipped with circular handles in gilded bronze. Tapered legs: the dressing table rests on four truncated pyramid legs, slightly tapered, which give the cabinet a slender and light appearance, in line with the louis xvi style. Materials: bois de rose and walnut wood. Style: louis xvi, recognizable by the geometric shapes, the lightness of the structures, the use of fillets and the predilection for straight lines and soft curves.
condition: the cabinet is in good general condition, restored and polished with a shellac finish.
emilian area of the end of the 18th century.
the dimensions are: 90 x 56, height 79 cm\.
