This late 19th C. beauty was made in America by the Crystal Refrigeration Company in Fremont Nebraska. A very rare petite two-door ice box in truly excellent condition. Solid brass original hinges and latches are in proper working order. It looks like they were nickel plated at one point, almost all the plating has worn off. The original nameplate is intact. Darling curved sides with riveted trim around the top and bottom edges. Adorable solid wood turned legs on casters. The amazing old galvanized zinc finish is in superb condition and covers all surfaces, including the back and bottom too. There's a drain pipe out the bottom and one glass shelf inside which was added in the early 1970's in order to divide the two interior spaces. I find only two tiny dents, these are on the top, please examine the magnified photo.

Measures 22 inches wide and 14.25 inches deep front to back, however the brass latches add another 1.75 inches to the overall depth. The height is 35.5 inches tall without the glass caster cups which add another half inch making an even 36 inch average counter height. I can include the glass cups if the Buyer wishes.

The antique canning jars are not included, but are shown to demonstrate the interior scale of the ice box. The upper interior section measures 17 inches wide at the widest point, 10 inches deep and 10.5 inches tall. The bottom section is a bit taller at 13.5 inches and there are four pegs so another shelf could be added.

A wonderfully attractive and interesting small storage cabinet that can fit just about anywhere. Suitable for many different design projects and quite possibly the cutest ice box you'll ever see... Thanks for looking!!! See less
