Canvas measures 35 x 17 inches to inside of frame. 37 x 19 inches to outside of frame. Frame is wood, painted black on the outer edge and gold gilt on the inside bordering the canvas.
Born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, this California painter was of French-Spanish descent and established a studio in Los Angeles after graduating from the Chouinard Art Institute. Michaud furthered his studies at the LaCienega studio of Morton Deminstein, where he met the artist Jack Valley with whom he subsequently shared a studio in Manhattan Beach. During the course of his sadly short career, Michaud exhibited widely and with success and was the recipient of numerous prizes, medals and juried awards. See less
