Born in 1890, and raised in Brooklyn, Man Ray's art reputation grew after he joined his good friend, Dadist Marcel Duchamp in the 1920s and '30s in Paris. To pay his rent he began taking portrait and fashion photographs, which led to him being called the "most celebrated commercial artist" in Paris. Over time, his Art Universe expanded to include painting, designing, sculpting and filmmaking This 1998 book features 78 illustrations of his various art works and photographs, with 28 plates in color.. It was translated from the French and published by Abrams in 1998. The 64-page coffee-table, hardcover book is in very good condition - clean, bright, unread. An inspiring peek into the little-known art of Man Ray - for collectors, fans and artists. It will be sent, carefully packed, with tracking. See less
