Design
The vase is executed in thick blue glass, finished with an iridescent sheen that reacts subtly to light. Vertical strips of glass are layered and fused in a rhythmic grid, creating both visual movement and surface depth. Protruding ridges add tactile tension to the cylindrical form. These cut elements—or “ritagli”—build up across the body in a staggered composition. from certain angles, the vase seems to shimmer as its iridescence shifts between violet, cobalt, and petrol green hues. At the base, the glass thickens and transitions into a darker spectrum, grounding the vase visually. The top edge remains raw and softly undulating, a typical gesture in Bianconi’s work.

Bianconi’s design reflects a spontaneous energy balanced by technical control. While decorative in tone, the vase maintains a strong architectural presence. Each surface plays with contrast between polished flatness and layered relief, evoking both sculpture and utility.
