She sits in repose against a blue background and red floor. A blue shirt is draped across her legs. She has short dark hair, and looks to a spot outside of the painter’s point of view. The figure in this piece is painted in the top right corner of a hard board. The remainder of the painting is a muted mauve. We’d love to see it framed and displayed on a wall in the home of someone who has an appreciation for outsider art.

About the artist:
This piece is by the late Oklahoma artist and retired Air Force man Clair Seglem. Seglem painted into his 1990s before passing at his Oklahoma residence. He was known for his striking portraits and still life paintings.
