Offered here is a very rare armchair in danish scandinavian modern design, designed by ib kofod-larsen in denmark in the 1950s and 1960s for fröscher kg / sitcom in germany.
in the 1950s, ib kofod-larsen designed the legendary
"elisabeth" lounge chair for christensen & larsen and other classics for ope mobler sweden.
this design model is a modified version of the elisabeth chair and retains some of its distinctive features.
the chair is ideal as a conference chair, desk chair, and dining room chair, and is also extremely comfortable.
special features
* first-class quality.
* sculpturally shaped armrests.
* the beautiful luxury upholstery – made of soft velour velvet in deep green (presumably mohair).
* the solid wood frame (most likely walnut)
* wide, rounded, and softly padded seat.
these chairs are ideal as a conference chair, desk chair, and dining room chair, and are extremely comfortable.
condition
it is in good, beautiful condition, with some insignificant, minor signs of age and use.
these include a few surface scratches, minor nicks on the wooden frame (mostly angular), and light-related color variations on the wood surface.
the fabric upholstery has acceptable color variations due to light and use, as well as small areas of light abrasion.
additionally, there are a few tiny marks in the fabric on the underside of the seat, which are not visible in daily use.
\.the marks are somewhat more visible upon closer inspection, but in our opinion, not serious\.
the first overall impression is very good and well-maintained.
