As with many turn-of-the-century French flatware sets, this one doesn't include knives.

This flatware set was purchased at a brocant in the Southwest region of France. The pieces are heavy and oversized, in the traditional style. There are 10 forks measuring 8.5"; 10 soup/sauce table spoons, 8.5". The teaspoons are a smaller 5.75". Each piece is stamped with two hallmarks: one for the maker LUX, with two globes and an anchor (LUX is the mark of the Societe Francaise d'Alliage de Metaux). The other mark denotes silver content: the large forks and spoons are marked 84gr; the smaller teaspoon, 18gr. See less
