This wooden bowl is oval with a large carved handle on the side, a very unusual detail hardly ever seen on bowls like this. It is made by hand from a single piece of birch root with an unusually attractive and completely natural patina after 250 years of use. There are some minor marks and traces of use. Bowls like this were used in the household for storing, preparing and serving food. Being household items it's rare that they survive to present day but they are still as decorative and functional now as then. See less
