Dating from the mid-nineteenth century, this classic Louis Philippe mirror has a silvered frame and retains the original glass. The frame is well preserved with minor surface wear, cracks and nicks that show its 100+ year history earned patina. Wear and losses as seen in photos.
Louis Philippe mirrors, named after King Louis Philippe I of France, who reigned from 1830 to 1848, epitomize a style of mirrors that gained popularity during his rule. Distinguished by their simplicity, these mirrors typically feature rounded upper corners. The frames are usually made of wood and are either gilded or silvered. Glass dimensions, 14.75" x 23".
