HOW DURABLE IS IT?
A 'double rub' is how fabric durability is measured, with each double rub simulating the regular stress put on a piece of furniture in regular use (like sitting down and standing back up, adjusting yourself, and so forth). 15,000 is considered strong enough for items like a sofa. This fabric is rated to 50,000, which is considered to be strong enough for public seating, where the fabric is almost constantly being used. This makes it great for pets, who use their bedding much differently (read: aggressively) than your and I do.

CAN IT BE WASHED?
Yes; the bed cover is removable for laundering, and the interior cushion can also be washed.

IS THE WOOD FINISHED WITH HARSH CHEMICALS?
No, the wood is finished with a traditional soap finish, often used in Scandinavian homes. It is a mixture of boiling water and pure castile soap (I use Dr. Bronner's). This gives the bed a finish that's 100% safe for your pet to interact with. Indeed, you could wash your pet with it (assuming you let the mixture cool).
