One woman raises an amphora-shaped container, while the other holds a bundle of wheat and a sickle. The 1060's design symbolizes harvest and regeneration. The work suggests geometric stylization and minimalist forms- reflecting the modernist aesthetic popular in mid-20th-century decorative arts. The mural is composed of individual ceramic tiles mounted on a wooden backing. The fired tiles exhibits a textured, earthy surface with a crackled glaze finish in warm tones of brown, cream, black, and ocher. A maker's mark is present in the lower left corner and resembles E and M. This mark may be the artist's signature or studio mark. The rear of the piece shows numerical markings, indicative of a structured assembly process. This heavy mural would be an impressive focal point in Mid-Century, modern, or post-modern.
