1940 Edition Ernest Hemingway for Whom the Bell Tolls Hardcover Book
The first edition was published in 1940 and by Charles Scribner's Sons in New York. Original tan cloth with black and red design also present. These criteria are shown here. The very first print run is reported to have a letter ‘A’ and this does not so the value is less than a very first printing.
Condition notes: Sunning shown on front cover due to time on shelf time next to a smaller book. Spotting present and fading of lettering on spine. Toning on end papers with ownership shown. Rough cut text block snd text pages in great condition with not tears or dog ears.
