The Levine work … Read more A 1967 poster for Atelier Mourlot with image after a work by American artist Jack Levine (1915-2010). The Levine work depicts is titled "Marianne & The Goddess of Liberty" and depicts two women dressed in red, white, and blue with the "Goddess of Liberty" dressed in the stars and stripes of the United States flag. "Atelier Mourlot" and a New York address are printed in bold on the lower portion of the poster.

Jack Levine was an American painter who specialized in satirical and social commentary regarding class systems and authority structures in the West. Levine enrolled in art classes at the Museum Fine Arts School of Boston and received free art lessons from Dr. Denman Ross of Harvard University who recognized his exceptional talent. Unlike many artists of the time period Levine did not stray from figural subject matter for abstract compositions. His work can now be found in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C. among others. See less
