A charming Louis XV chest or commode most likely from late 1700s. Features incredibly sturdy walnut construction with three large drawers - each with bronze ring pulls and escutcheons. Subtle scalloped apron, carved shell motif, and paneled sides are a provincial take on more formal Rococo designs. Understated with a warm patina, this piece would be an attractive contrast to more modern designs. Great for extra storage in a foyer, guest room, etc.

Some furniture historians suggest that the increased social prominence of women in 18th century France influenced the delicate and organically-inspired look of the Louis XV style.

Lightly refurbished and in overall excellent antique condition with honest wear.
