This piece and another listing were purchased at a NYC charity event in 2001, unfortunately they are unsigned. We love them for their bright colors and bold strokes. Every close up reveals hidden details - are they part of this art piece or hints from an original painting on the previous canvas? Reclaimed canvas is a particular trait of starving artist centers the world over - struggling artists unable to buy new art supplies salvage a previous work, repaint it blank, and create their new works over the old. Stretched canvas on sturdy frame, the hanging wire gives an indication of the intended direction of this piece, but you could choose to alter the angle.
