A lovely and unique pair of Italian Art Tiles attributed to Emmanuel Terzani, circa 1950's.
One is a Renaissance themed gentleman with a cape, hat and leggings with long hair.
The second is a Mardi Gras or Harlequin themed gentleman, wearing a black mask, blue hat and coat and contrasting red and blue leggings.
Both tiles feature the artist's unusual, crackled glaze and bright wisps of color and we believe are in the original frames, likely maple.
Both are stamped " Made in Italy" on the back and have we believe have their original hooks for hanging.
Including the frame each is approximately 11.5"high by 7 1/2" wide and a half" deep.
The Harlequin masked figure is particularly unusual and pairs well with the Renaissance themed gentleman.
They an excellent condition. With no chips, cracks or damage to the tiles or the frames, except for a small flea bite on the bottom left corner of the Renaissance man tile and a few scratches on both frames
The colors are strong and vibrant.
