This Vintage Turkish Kilim was hand-woven in the Oushak region of Turkey using wool on a wool foundation. At a size of 5'11" x 9'2", this Kilim is a type of rug with no pile, created by tightly interweaving the warp and weft strands on a horizontal loom. This technique produces sharp geometric designs and is lighter and softer to the touch compared to traditional pile rugs. Kilims were not only used as rugs, but also as sofa covers, drapes, pillows, table covers, wall hangings, and even insulation against extreme cold.
