Mosaic Art Platter by Georges Briard "Regalia" pattern with white and gold tiles large serving platter with Mandarin Orange glass inserts on an anodized gold aluminum back and designed with upturned sides. Manufactured by Glass Guild of New York and shown in its 1959 catalogue.
Jascha Brojdo (1917-2005) was born in Ukraine, Russia at the time, to a wealthy and prominent family. In 1937 he imigrated to the US. where he became a prolific designer under the name Georges Briard. Most of his creations are in the glassware and dishware production but furniture was also designed by him. Briards creations were very coveted and were sold in fashionable stores like Nieman Marcus.
Measurements: 11 1/2 inches square x 7/8 inch high
Condition: Very Good. Small area of gold partialy rubbed off on one glass insert. Some rubbing on anodized back. Minor wear consistent with age and use. Please look at all images.
