From the label, it appears to have been made in Korea. While not an antique, it is a traditionally styled piece in very good condition and appears to be well made. The chest features 110 small drawers in the upper sections and 32 slightly larger drawers below. At the base, three sets of sliding doors open to reveal a full-length compartment for concealed storage. Each drawer is adorned with a beautifully carved circular pull and marked with hand-brushed Chinese characters, historically used to identify herbal, medicinal, and spice ingredients. Though quite substantial, the modular design makes the chest easier to transport and arrange.
