This set of vintage prints of roses by Pierre Joseph Redoute features white roses that captures the "delicate beauty" of the "Rosa Campanulata Alba and Yellow roses, "Rosa Eglanteria”. These classic French mats for a beautiful set of prints by the 'Rembrandt of Roses' were Expertly Framed by Betty Ginsberg International Framers, NY, NY with gilded moulding as well as foil and marbelized borders.

These prints are from Redouté's collection Les Roses. Les Roses is considered his finest work, published between 1817 and 1824, featuring over 170 species of roses. The specific roses depicted are Rosa Campanulata Alba and Rosa Eglanteria.

.Pierre-Joseph Redouté floral print. Belgian born Redouté achieved success as a painter working for the French royal court as a tutor to Marie Antoinette and later from 1798 was appointed to paint the flowers of Malmaison by Josephine Bonaparte. His famous published works include 'Les Liliacées' and 'Les Roses, the latter, from which these two prints originated.
