Clearance priced. Business closing.
This antique Chinese altar table made with Asian Elm is circa the early 19th century and is in exceptional condition. Traditional Chinese "Auspicious" patterns decorate the front of the table. The side panels of the table are intricately carved. The ornate carvings are double-sided and can be viewed from both sides (the table can be used on both sides). The wood plank used for the surface of this table is more than two inches thick. The everted flanges complete the table.
The table is crafted with wooden pegs and a tenon structure; which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. Made with the core of elm wood, the table is very heavy and solid. Original patina and wear.
