This design was created in a competition as part of the exhibition "Lumières: Je pense à vous" at the Center Pompidou in 1985. The design and the name W.O. refers to the pioneers of aviation, the brothers Wilbur and Orville Wright. The lamp impresses with its technical design language and special materiality. The most striking detail is the delicate reflector disc. It consists of a light, thin honeycomb panel and has the simple shape of a square. The disc is mounted at a fixed distance parallel to the lamp head using a small bracket. This delicate plastic disc serves as a reflector, diffuser and, thanks to its shape, also as an object. The lamp head is located at the end of a double shaft. The lamp can be tilted in both directions using a simple spring mechanism between the two rods. The double linkage always ensures that the head is aligned parallel. The heavy plate base is raised in the middle area to cover the transformer.
The lamp is in very good condition with signs of wear and patina. This piece has an attribution mark,
