This inkwell in the orientalist style is signed Alp Giroux et Cie
Good condition, a lack behind the character's hands, linked to the cast iron
Maison Giroux (family business) was a Parisian manufacturer of furniture and luxury objects intended for bourgeois and aristocratic customers. Very often inspired by creations from past centuries, Maison Giroux does not hesitate to innovate and mix new techniques: furniture inlaid with porcelain, toys, sewing kits, mirrors.
The taste and refinement of their production continues and the objects/furniture are still highly sought after today.
