Tang Dynasty - style horse sculpture in cast durastone by Austin Productions 1961.
Apparently horses were a major inspiration for artist during China's Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) period and there are reproductions of the many depictions seen in museums. The Austin Co. made them available and extremely popular as affordable art for residential use. This particular piece has survived sixty plus years in perfect condition, it is light sandstone color, smooth and textural areas define the muscular body and saddle. At 18" long x 13" high x 5" deep it is a commanding presence in any environment.
