You cannot pass this doleful young man without engaging. If you have traveled, you have met him in the streets of Latin America, of India, of Africa and even some parts of the U.S. He’s someone who has already lived as an adult while still in his childhood. He is a reminder to keep your heart and mind open. And, to make a home for him.
The painter of this piece, Eduardo González Expósito, was born into a family of artists in Havana in 1964. His artistic expression has taken multiple forms: acting, sculpture, photography and painting--the latter which has earned him the title, “The Cuban Picasso.” Outside of Cuba, Expósito has held solo gallery exhibitions in San Francisco, New Orleans, Switzerland and Portugal, as well as numerous group shows in Italy, the United States, Switzerland, and Argentina.
