Superb vintage Lg Benin Bronze Head of Oba Nigeria African showcases exquisite craftsmanship, featuring cast imperfections and minor holes . The Benin people used these intricately crafted brass heads as decorative items on their altars, reflecting the royal art of their kingdom and paying homage to their divine king, the OBA. The art of brass casting in Benin has a long-standing history, with guilds producing pieces for the monarchy and for chiefs. Each piece is unique, created using the lost-wax technique that has been utilized in the fifteenth or sixteenth century.
