As you can see, the previous owner used it for ikebana and left the kenzan for the next lucky owner (as it’s a good, large one). I believe it’s anchored with putty of some kind, and can most likely be easily removed for repositioning or use elsewhere.

Fine decorative work surrounds the perimeter of this piece, and the dragon-head handles and foo dog feet are well designed and crafted, in addition to having their special symbolic meanings.

This planter or vessel is large; its commanding presence will be felt wherever it’s positioned.
It’s just short of 18 inches across (not including the handles) and 14 1/4 deep, with a height of 6 inches. The kenzan is about 4 7/8 in diameter. Very heavy, of course!

Excellent for use as a centerpiece on a sideboard or even on the dining table. See less
