This pair of elegant armchairs was manufactured by the German Wilhelm Knoll factory during the 1970s. The rounded frame of the armchairs is made of noble cherry wood with visible, rich grain and satin gloss. Cherry wood is very attractive, hard and at the same time flexible and resistant to mechanical loads. The loosely placed, thick backrest and seat cushions have been re-upholstered with high-quality soft Boucle fabric in a dirty pink color. The seat cushions are located on spiral springs, making these armchairs very comfortable. The set looks elegant and subtle. The organic shape of the frame, high quality of the materials used and timeless appearance mean that the set will successfully find its place in many arrangements, including modern ones.
Wilhelm Knoll, currently known as Walter Knoll, is a brand whose history dates back to 1865, when Wilhelm, the founder of the Knoll dynasty, opened the doors of his leather shop in Stuttgart, Germany. In 1907, the company was taken over by his sons - Willy and Walter, who began producing seating furniture with due care and respect. At the age of 50, Walter Knoll founded his own company Walter Knoll & Co. GmbH, which moved to Herrenberg in 1937. At the same time, equipped with knowledge of the Bauhaus movement and the skills of his family, Walter's son, Hans, went to the United States, where he was initially supposed to sell his father's products. Eventually, together with his wife Florence Knoll, he founded the company Knoll Associates there, which after years was transformed into Knoll International. During the Second World War, the German factory was seriously damaged by bombing, which led to the closure of production. The company had a new beginning after the war, when Walter's second son, Robert Knoll, joined the family business. Walter Knoll and Knoll International are thus two independent furniture brands with a common heritage. In 1993, the Rolf Benz family bought the Walter Knoll trademark and entered the international market. In 2015, the company celebrated its 150th anniversary on the market.
