Made of solid iron, it has a patina of surface rust and encrustations that testify to its age and use. The top of the stamp consists of the initials "dm" in sturdy, lightly stylized lettering, clearly outlined to leave a distinctive mark on the animals' skin. The letter "d" is made up of a vertical line and a semicircular curve, while the "m" is made up of three vertical rods joined by two diagonal segments. The initials are welded to a central body that extends downwards into a long handle terminating in a perforated ring. This ring probably allowed the instrument to be hung when not in use or to facilitate handling while heating in the fire. The craftsmanship is evident in the solidity of the forging and the functional simplicity of the design. This tool represents a piece of rural history, an artefact linked to traditional livestock breeding and identification practices. Its presence evokes images of grazing herds and manual labor tied to the land.
