Exquisitely beautiful and intricately crafted Flemish merchants cabinet from the 18th century. The outer box was made with rosewood and walnut wood, expertly inlaid in a rectangular pattern. When you open up the front cabinet doors you are faced with what appears to be 9 equally sized small drawers. Each one is outlined in bone (close up photo included). The bottom level of the drawers are actually one long drawer that has a liftable tray with an in laid bottom that matches the outside of the box. The first and second middle drawers are similarly connected despite appearing as two different drawers, making a space for taller objects so you don't have to law them down incase anything were to spill out.
The original key is included, and it still works!
This cabinet is in amazing condition, the only damage is the unfortunate top right drawer knob is missing the disc portion of the knob. Deceivingly heavy for its size and appearance.
This particular cabinet was purchased in 1996 from Ed Hardy, a well known antique dealer based out of San Francisco, for $4,000. It was used as home decor in the local personal home of a well known high end interior designer from Portland, OR.
