Executed in vibrant wool thread on natural linen, the composition centers on a uniformed soldier with feathered hat holding the reins of a black horse adorned in bright red harness.

Surrounding the central vignette is a dynamic field of large floral rosettes, stylized spirals, and geometric bands in saturated shades of crimson, cobalt, emerald, and black. The highly textured embroidery features dense chain, satin, and couching stitches, demonstrating accomplished needlework typical of Kalotaszeg’s early–mid 20th century domestic production.
