Item description:
beautiful polychrome ceramic sculpture, glazed and entirely decorated by hand with soft, delicate colors, fired three times, depicting a large dancing couple, a lady and gentleman in 19th-century dress, made by the important austrian manufacturer goldscheider in the early 20th century, signed and numbered on the back with an incised mark. Under the base there is also the artist's signature in cursive: "e. Tell". The sculpture is made in full art nouveau style, in the early years of the 20th century. The polychromy is also very delicate, giving the object a wonderful evanescent quality, a real touch of class that makes the sculpture diaphanous and soft in color, echoing the impressionist style of the late 1800s.
useful information for evaluating the item:
in the last photo, we have included the catalog number of the sculpture, number 2711, from the goldscheider general catalog, created in 1903-1905 by e. Tell. From a web search, we found that the three highest prices achieved by ceramics made by this artist range from €1,600 to €2,438 plus fees, and the four highest prices range from €1,500 to €3,000. In addition, there are numerous terracotta and ceramic pieces by e. Tell for sale online, all at rather high prices, ranging from a minimum of €1,600 to over €3,500. This gives an idea of the value of this famous artist's works.
