In certain … Read more I confess, my attraction towards this side table was its stunning legs and the richness of its coloring! In certain lights, it is a warm, chocolatey brown, but in brighter light, it has a warm, reddish glow to it.
The single drawer slides easily and has its original wooden pull. While I was rubbing it down with wood oil, I noticed that some of the nails in the top were starting to pop through—but these nails (while flush with the top, no jagged edges) had “rectangular” shaped heads—which were indicative of the time period that it was made. I have great respect for pieces that were crafted when Abraham Lincoln was in his early twenties—and they have “weathered” history, fabulously!
This long-legged beauty is very sturdy, practical, light weight, and of a perfect height.
