This original antique lithograph on paper titled, “St. Goar Hansen,” depicts a view of the city of St. Goar in Germany with church, castle, and boats docked on the Rhine river while townspeople go about their days. Colored in shades of blue, green, brown, gray, and beige. Signed ‘JDH’ for James Duffield Harding and dated May 1834.
This lithograph is set within an ivory matte and framed behind glass. The wooden frame is painted an antique gold.
The image size is 15 inches wide x 10.5” high. The overall frame size is 27.5 inches wide x 21.5” high x 1 inch deep.
James Duffield Harding (1797-1863) was an English landscape artist, who was trained by Samuel Prout in watercolor painting and Charles Pye in etching.
